Industrial Visit for FET Students

Industrial visit is an important component in engineering undergraduate programmes as it exposes students to the real working environment by offering students a glimpse of the activities and actual work involved in an engineering industry.

For this purpose, and beginning Trimester 2, 2012/13, industrial visits will be arranged for students to various engineering industries. Upon return from the industrial visits, students are to complete an online questionnaire form highlighting their main observations throughout the visit. Only online questionnaire forms which have been submitted will allow students to be eligible for an assessment (e.g., assignment, project, etc.) in the subjects listed below:
a) Mechanical - EME3056 Industrial Management
b) Telecommunications - ETM3086 Mobile and Satellite Communications
c) Robotics and Automation - ERT3016 Robotics
d) Bio-Instrumentation - EBI4016 Bioelectric

Note that although some of these subjects may only be offered to you in future trimesters, you are strongly encouraged to participate in the industrial visits in earlier trimesters.

The visits will be arranged in batches by the faculty. Seats will be given on a prioritized first-come-first-serve basis as the number of seats is limited. Regular announcement will be posted on the online bulletin and the faculty website. Students are also strongly encouraged to organize the visits on their own. The guidelines on self-visit procedures can be found here:
